Burger Bash Rules

  1. All competitors must cook, create their burgers in the completion area only.
  2. All competitors will receive 1 pound of 80/20 CAB ground beef provided, to create three identical burgers. Any additional ingredients must be supplied by the contestant.
  3. All entries must include the full list of ingredients the contestant will use.
  4. Be as creative! You can use whatever you want within reason for your creations, however if your list of ingredients contains an item that is not allowed, RRS will notify you of the need to remove it.
  5. Contestants must bring necessary supplies for three (3) identical burgers. Contestants must bring their own work utensils, cutting boards, cookware and dishes. Contestants also must supply their own tabletop butane gas burner (10,000 to 15,000 BTU) for cooking burgers.
  6. All ingredients and tools brought to the competition area must be transported in sealed plastic containers. Glass containers will not be allowed.
  7. All meat used for the creation of your burger must be cooked to at least medium temp.
  8. 1 pound of 80/20 ground beef will be the only supply that is provided.
  9. Contestants must attend a 10:30 a.m. orientation meeting Monday, April 29th, 2019, where contestant numbers, prep spaces and cook times will be assigned. Any Contestants arriving late risk not being assigned a time slot and the loss of their registration fee.
  10. When a contestant's number is called, he or she will have 45 minutes to prepare their entries. Only registered contestants are allowed in the competition area. No logos or branding that identifies contestants either individually or by business will be allowed. Once contestants have submitted burgers for judging, they will be required to clean, sanitize and remove all waste materials from prep area.
  11. Registration is $50 per entry must be paid at time of registration. Paid registration entitles contestant to two days of the show with two additional complementary attendee passes.
  12. The burger competition is limited to the first 20 entries. Competitors must be chefs, restaurant owners or restaurant staff. Contestants must be 16 or older to compete.
  13. The first-place winner of the 2019 RRS Burger Bash will receive a cash price of $1,000 a burger bash trophy long with the Title of 2019 Dallas RRS Burger Bash Champion!
  14. RRS Burger Bash staff has the right to inspect all coolers and products.
  15. All RRS Burger Bash contestants must be in compliance with RRS rules and regulations. Violators may be subject to disqualification. Judging panel decisions are final in all aspects of this competition.


The Burger Bash competition will be held on Monday, April 29th at the Irving Convention Center.

9:00 a.m. Registration opens for competitors
10:30 a.m. Orientation (mandatory for all competitors)
11:00 a.m. Competition begins
3:00 p.m. Awards ceremony

Winner receives a top prize of $1000, award and bragging rights.
